Holiday Table Design Three Ways

It’s time to gather with loved ones and friends and create memories around the holiday table. To help inspire your celebrations we teamed up with our friends, local retailer and floral designer Rye Home and Seascape Flowers to show you three tablescape looks to span the season.

While each tablescape is completely unique, we kept the base layer in a neutral palette with a gorgeous embroidered linen tablecloth, simple, but unique handmade stoneware plates and our favorite vintage inspired cutlery. We also added delicate drinkware like these swirled glass tumblers and stem wine glasses, and finished our foundation with timeless taper candles in different colors, understated candleholders, and brass salt/pepper grinders. This way, you can easily transition throughout the holiday hosting season with just a swap of florals, greens, linens, and other accessories.

Look One

Let’s start with Kerry's personal favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. Here the autumnal inspired table is highlighted with rustic, but elegant features and designed to make every guest feel warm and cozy. We leaned into the colors of the season using cinnamon colored linens and terra cotta pots for the stunning floral arrangements. Choosing taupe candles and napkin tags continued the autumnal, Thanksgiving feeling of this tablescape. We scattered figs, persimmons and pears for another layer of texture and color and the simple taper candles provided a subtle, warm glow.

Look Two

For our second table, we pivoted to an understated holiday vibe. To set the tone, we changed out the florals using petite white flowers in simple stoneware vases. Adding ribbons to the candlesticks, changing the taper candles to a subtle artichoke green, and gingham napkins was an of-the-moment way to add some texture and charm, while incorporating a little brass bell was our subtle nod to the winter holiday season. No traditional bright red and pine green here!

Look Three

Our third and final look is slightly elevated.  All we did here was a simple swap of linens and florals. We updated the napkins to an elegant icy blue color and used pretty etched glass tumblers to hold tall green and white blooms.  Pick your holiday — This could work for Hanukkah, Christmas Eve or New Year’s.

A big thanks to Bakes and Boards for the festive and delicious cake and Julie Cahill for the beautiful photography. Cheers to the season!
