There, I said it. Let’s just say my watering habits are sporadic at best and if there were a CPS for the plant world, I would have been reported long ago. Nevertheless, I love them. You will always find some kind of greenery in my house.  I’m a fan of succulents and orchids (partly because they tend to survive my torture a little longer).  Of course this time of year, nothing beats a fresh bouquet of spring flowers.

We have a couple of local spots that are great sources for plant shopping, inspiration and sometimes, a little zen time.

The Botanist is a recent discovery of mine. It’s a beautiful garden store located in Los Altos, CA that’s not just full of the loveliest plants but also artful, curated, garden-inspired accessories. They also offer gorgeous floral arrangements on the weekends. The bonus of this place is that it’s actually attached to another store called The Makery, which sells unique party and what I would call high-end DIY craft supplies. They also have events and an open studio where you can make anything from a custom tote bag to your own linocut stamp, if you are creatively inclined.

Another favorite is a local Santa Cruz store called Dig Gardens. As described on their website, they offer a mix of organic, bohemian, modern-garden style plants and garden accessories. I love their containers and they’re a great source for air plants, succulents and the ever-popular fiddle leaf  fig plant.

And, speaking of fiddle leaf fig plants… I want one. But I probably shouldn’t. Because well, you already know what’s going to happen. For now I’ll just be happy with these pretty pics.

I hope spring is making an appearance where you live. Go out and pick up some fresh flowers or a new plant and bring a piece of the beautiful spring weather inside. Just remember to add water.
