If you follow home design at all, you’ve noticed that gold and brass finishes are back in a big way. We’re seeing it everywhere from fixtures to cabinet hardware to utensils, wall paper and more. I love the way it can add a little warmth and glam without going over the top. One of the first things we did when we moved into our house was to remove all the shiny brass outlet covers and light fixtures. They were everywhere! And now I’m adding some touches of brass and gold back sparingly in the form some updated light fixtures and a few other little touches. More on that later. Until then, here’s a look at a few of my favorites.
This modern brass sputnik light makes a statement and compliments the other fixtures in this fun bathroom. I love how it draws your eye up and emphasizes the plank paneling and the detailed ceiling. Tamara Kaye Honey via Lonny
Designer Erin Gates nailed the finishes in this bath. I’m definitely saving this one for my master bath file. Erin Gates Design Elements of Style
I heart this painting from one of may absolute favorite local shops, The Warmth Company.
Check out these gorgeous plates by Suite One Studio. The simplicity of the white plates with gold edging is perfect, but owner, designer Lindsay Emery creates an entire collection of limited-edition porcelain dinnerware in chic colorful glazes inspired by water color paintings. I love them all.
